Planting Bulbs: After the heat of summer is gone but before the ground freezes, plant fall bulbs. The cool weather makes working in the garden more pleasant and lessens the amount of watering that needs to be done.

If you plant healthy bulbs in the wrong place, they won’t grow. You can plant bulbs almost anywhere in your garden, as long as they get enough sun. Most bulbs do best in full sun, but most can also grow in some shade.

How to grow?

Leave at least 3 to 4 inches between each item. There are always exceptions, so make sure you meet any special needs. Take out any rocks or weeds from the soil.
Place the bulb in the hole with the pointy end facing up or the roots facing down. If you can’t tell the top from the bottom, plant the bulb on its side. Most of the time, the flower bulb will still find its way to the top even if you don’t get it right.

What should you do after you plant?

How to do follow-up care?
Spread compost or a slow-release bulb food on top of the soil to feed the plants. You could also mix in some fertilizer that dissolves in water, but that’s not necessary if you’ve already added it to the soil. Use organic fertilizers if you can.
A 3- to 4-inch layer of mulch also keeps heat in. It will keep the ground from freezing for a while. Organic matter is also added to the planting bed with mulch that has been well-composted. Mulch is a covering that is put around plants to stop weeds from growing and keep the soil moist.
When the flowers are done blooming, cut off the flower head but leave the leaves alone. When the leaves have turned brown or yellow, you can cut them down to the ground. Flowers that have been cut can be used in bouquets and other ways to decorate.
